Description
Coated VICRYL™ Absorbable Suture, Violet Braided, TG160-8 Needle, Size 8/0, 8" is a synthetic, braided, absorbable surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from glycolide and lactide. The suture is coated to improve its handling characteristics, offering excellent pliability and knot security.
The TG160-8 spatula needle is specifically suited for fine, flat tissue work, particularly in ophthalmic surgeries. The braided structure of the suture allows for superior handling and secure knot tying, especially useful when knot strength is critical on the first throw. It performs reliably in both deep and superficial tissue closures.
Indications include general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including ophthalmic and reproductive tract procedures. It is not recommended for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues. Coated VICRYL™ is also considered a secondary option in some orthopedic applications due to its favorable handling and predictable absorption.
